What you need to know when you order:

Designs that Morph and Mutate... ack!  It's not that I have a short attention span or get bored easily... it's that I keep thinking up variations & improvements.  I'll start out making a couple Swine Lakes, and then the Morph Monster takes over and the kiln is filled with Arnold SchwartzePigger and Piggy Sue Got Married and Frankenswine...  that's why there are so stinkin' many designs in the Bead Catalog, and why I probably won't have the bead you really, really want sitting here in stock.  SO...  I'll probably be making the bead for you.  The first thing you need to know is...

Lampworked Beads are one of a kind pieces of art.  I might be able to get close, but I'll never be able to recreate a design exactly.  It'll have small differences, and it'll probably be better.

BEAD CATALOG DESIGNS: When you order from the Bead Catalog, maybe we'll luck out and I'll have it in stock.  Since nothing's ever exactly the same, I'll email a digital picture for you to check out.  If you like it, it's yours.  If I don't have one, I'll make it for you.  Little details can be modified... color, pattern, position of eyes, etc.  If you want a change we'll talk, and if I know it will be difficult or (how to put this gently? aw, hell...) rancid I'll advise another choice.   For *most* of my beads changing the little stuff isn't a big deal, and there's no extra charge.  I'll make the piece, but just once - no additional tinkering.  If you like it, it's yours.  If you don't like it, no obligation & no remake - it'll be snapped up at my next show.  (note - I don't change Gollums & their kin.  Ever!)

CUSTOM ORDERS: These are new designs or variations that require trial & error and maybe a couple prototypes to get right.  The problem is Artistic Vision - even after a lot of design discussion, what I visualize & create might not be what you're visualizing.  Sometimes I'm willing to give it a try if I like the concept, can come up with a nutso name, and have a lot of extra time (this is how Karen Scott got me started on the Ass Backwards series - thanks, Karen!).

If I accept your custom order I'll work out a design & run it by you & we'll discuss prices.  When you give the OK, I'll make a good critter to your design.  But before I start we'll need to do a 50% non-refundable deposit, this because the last couple customers left me with 'I changed my mind - thank you for your trouble', wasted time & pieces I couldn't sell.  I'll make it and it's yours.  If you change your mind, I'll keep the deposit and try to sell it at my next show.  Fair enough?
